As certified thereon, the above mentioned Account, together with the Statement of Assets and Liabilities on the 31st of December, 1929, has been examined under my directions.

2. The questions which arose in the course of examination have been satisfactorily settled, as far as possible, but a few points are still

awaiting final settlement.

3. The Statement of Assets and Liabilities

at 31st December, 1929, includes assets of $408,843.64 in respect of Unallocated Stores Public Works Department and $151,752.98 in respect of Unallocated Stores of the Railway; which amounts were, respectively, $8,843.64 and $1,752.98 in

excess of the approved Standard Stocks.

4. The accounts as rendered include under

Public Works Loan Account Head 2, Aerodrome and

Harbour Development, an excess expenditure of

$333,108.17. This amount was met during the

financial year from the unexpended balance under

Public Works Loan Account Head 1 Public

Waterworks

Development, pending an advance from the surplus

balances of the Colony.
